Transition to OOSH
Whether your child is just commencing Kindergarten, or is simply new to the school and/or an OOSH environment, transitioning to an OOSH setting can be a daunting experience. Rest assured, we are here to provide support, information and guidance, and aid in the overall process of creating a smooth transition for your child.
Samuel Gilbert OOSH is a service that provides quality care, education and play for children aged between five and twelve years. We offer both Before School Care sessions (7am to 9am) and After School Care sessions (2:55pm to 6pm).
It is important to communicate with your child regularly, and prior to commencement, engage in conversations with your child, explaining what OOSH is and explaining the process to them. As part of our transition process, here at Samuel Gilbert OOSH, we offer and encourage orientation sessions, the sharing of information via discussions and a “Welcome To OOSH” book, forms for you to complete on your child’s interests and cultural heritage, buddy programs, and a warm atmosphere and environment, where we welcome you to spend some time as your child settles into the service.
Samuel Gilbert OOSH is a place where you child will:
- Make new friends
- Share in meal times
- Engage in collaborative learning
- Develop in their leadership skills and sense of agency
- Involve themselves in play and leisure-based experiences
- And most importantly have FUN
